Between 1986 and 1988 musicians Rogelio Maxwell and Dan Joseph pursued a productive collaboration while both artists were living in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, DC. During that time the duo made a number of live appearances in the city, at DC Space, Botswana (Washington Project for the Arts), Lafayette Park and other venues.

Collected Recordings contains all surviving recordings, including studio sessions at Inner Ear Studio in Arlington, VA (1988), as well as a live set at DC Space (1987) on the occasion of the venue’s 10th anniversary celebration. Collectively, this album represents all four extended compositions the duo created together, with Maxwell playing cello, flute and electronics, and Joseph playing keyboards, tapes, and live mixing.
